Your Mouth Has a Microbiome and It’s Talking to the Rest of Your Body

We’re only beginning to understand the power of the oral microbiome - the community of microbes living in your mouth. These organisms don’t just impact your teeth and gums; they influence your digestion, your immune system, and even your brain.

An imbalanced mouth microbiome can drive:

  • Chronic inflammation (which strains the immune system)

  • Leaky gums (yes, like leaky gut)

  • Metabolic changes linked to blood sugar imbalance and fatigue

The state of your oral microbiome can also influence:

  • Your cravings and taste preferences

  • Your gut microbial balance

  • Your risk of diseases like Alzheimer’s, heart disease, and diabetes

And yet most dental visits never touch on this.

This is the gap I work to close. Through integrative consultations, salivary testing, and personalized coaching, I help people uncover how their mouth may be reflecting - or contributing to - deeper health challenges.

Curious to learn more?

Each month, I’ll send a short, focused update connecting oral health to a different area of whole-body wellness - along with practical ways to support both.

If you’re interested in exploring your own oral-systemic health and how personalized care can support your whole-body wellness, I’d love to invite you to schedule an integrative dental consultation with me.
